In a group of stories surrounding a character named Fionn.  Late in Fionn's life he courted the king's daughter "Grainne", who has no interest in marring him, but falls madly in love with Fionn's greatest champion and friend Diarmuid.

As the hunt of the couple begins, in times of trouble Diarmuid & Grainne were said to have been wrapped in the invisible clock of "Angus Oc", Diarmuid's father.

The outside edge of this carving was worked with a lathe, leaving a higher inside plain to carve.  Can be used as a hot plate or a decorative wall hanging.
