Egg Tempera & Casein
This is my first illustration I have ever made using Egg Tempera and Casein paints.  The Tempera is unlike ink in that it sits on the surface to a large degree and you mix it your self.  Casein paint is only used to make vary fine, almost pen thick lines in this particular image.  One of a kind piece!

I made this piece with the inspiration of the old icon's (with a design of my own).  You see that they both have red heir!  I did this because the Celts often depicted people (in there manuscripts) of different cultures to look like Celts themselves!  I think this may be so because people were somewhat isolated in those times so that could be how they envisioned the story or would like to see it. One of a kind....it is not a print.

Egg Tempera & Casein
The story is more centered on a character from Ireland named Ciabhan who travels to Tir Nan Og, which is a sort of paradise.  Where he falls in love with Cliodna and promises to bring her to Ireland.  Upon their arrival in Ireland Ciabhan goes on a hunt while his lover stays behind.  Iuchnu played music till se slept and the people of Tir Nan Og brought up a wave that took her back to the sea.
